This afternoon I made up a small batch of strawberry jam. It has such a pretty color and smelled so good while cooking, I can't wait to try it!
It made only three jars, but I suppose we don't really need all that much jam around here. But I do enjoy making it. I don't know, there's just something about it...
Here's my jam, cooling down, waiting to be put away.
Salam Alaykum sister,
ReplyDeleteIt looks soo pretty, i'm sure it will taste great in shaa Allah
I've always wanted to try jam making, just haven't got around to it yet, maybe one day soon.
Are there any special rules you have to follow? i'd love if you could do a tutorial/recipe post on making jam <3
Wa alaikum salam, you really should try it some day. You just need to make sure that you get the right canner for what you want to do (water bath or steam canner) because you can't can certain things in the water bath canner. But jams and jellies are ok and I think pickles, too. The steam canner is for vegetables and meats.
DeleteI'll try to do a tutorial the next time I make a jam, I want to make apple mint jelly so maybe next week.
I too am intrigued by canning - see it so often online now - must try one day inshallah.
ReplyDeleteIf you can, definitely try it someday!
