First Ebru Painitngs

Saturday afternoon I had my Ebru class and we did backgrounds. It was a lot of fun though I made the mistake of wearing a white shirt...That paint isn't coming out. But perhaps I can try dying it?


I made two backgrounds, this is the first one:

I wish the purple had come out a bit brighter. But the backgrounds are usually a bit on the drab, or muted, side so it doesn't take away from the picture. I made the design in the brown with a needle that you pull through the paint.

Here is my second one, a bit more vibrant, I like the color on this one better:

The design on this one was made with a comb that has a row of metal pins that you pull through the paint. I wanted to do one is blue and green but we didn't have those colors ready.

Next weekend, she's going to teach us how to make a tulip.
